Indian marble

Marble is all the rage these days, with the most popular styles coming from India. Indian marble is a soft, fine-grained material that can be cut into any shape and is strong enough to be used as a countertop. It can be made into tiles and stones, and it can be used for flooring and as a pattern on tile and stone countertops. If you think marble is expensive, you should see some of the prices for Indian marble.Marble is a beautiful hard stone that can be worked into a variety of different designs, from decorative tiles to flooring, countertops, and more. However, there are a lot of people who don’t know much about the stone, and the only reason they’d be interested in having it in their home is that they think it’s a good investment.

sand stone

Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed of sand-size grains of mineral, rock, or organic material. It also contains a cementing material that binds the sand grains together and may contain a matrix of silt- or clay-size particles that occupy the spaces between the sand grains. Sandstone is one of the most common types of sedimentary rock, and it is found in sedimentary basins throughout the world. Deposits of sand that eventually form sandstone are delivered to the basin by rivers, but may also be delivered by the action of waves or wind. Some sand grains might be organic particles, such as sand and shell debris produced within the basin. The grains in a sandstone can be composed of mineral, rock, or organic materials. Which and in what percentage depends upon their source and how they were altered during transport.

Quartz

Quartz countertops are manmade. Considered an “engineered stone,” quartz for countertops is made with quartzite (a naturally occurring stone) that’s ground into a powder, mixed with resin and pigments, and then molded into slabs that can be used like natural stone. Quartz is made by humans, so the slabs are more consistent. It comes in a variety of styles, many of which look just like natural stone slabs. White quartz countertops look a lot like marble. Quartz is strong and resistant to cracks, but not quite as resistant to heat. Quartz countertops can be burned with a hot pan. Quartz is not porous, so it doesn’t stain and doesn’t need to be sealed.

Compozit

Composite granite is manufactured with 95% natural stone and 5% resin. Like natural granite, each piece of this manufactured material has its own blend of natural stone crystals, which are heated and molded into a solid surface. Engineered stone is ideal for creating consistent design and even, balanced strength. In fact, composite granite is harder and heavier than its natural counterpart, though exponentially less expensive. And, it will maintain its look and strength well, thanks to its non-porous, stain-resistant nature. Resistant to scratches, stains, chips and household acids, granite composite looks and feels like natural matte stone. Granite composite sinks will not fade in colour when exposed to high heat, and they can accommodate hot pots and pans – resisting heat up to 535 degrees Fahrenheit.

Line stone

stone line is a three-dimensional subsurface layer, or ‘carpet,’ of stones evident as a ‘line of stones’ in natural exposures such as soils, road cuts, and trenches. Stone lines that are more than one stone thick have been called ‘stone zones’. Stone lines and stone zones are known to occur in soils, paleosols (buried soils), and in non-soil geologic-stratigraphic sequences. Where present in stratigraphic sequences, if the units were deposited by running water, the stones are usually imbricated (individual stones are lapped, or leaning, upon one another in the direction of water flow). This is strong evidence that such stone lines are geogenic.
